HI! I'M HERMIEN

I obtained my BInt degree from the University of Pretoria in 2001. I'm a Professional Interior Designer, registered with the South African Institute of the Interior Design Professions, with 24 years’ experience in the architecture and interior design industry and is currently working at WMS Architects. I'm involved in projects of various scale, including industrial, commercial and residential projects. My experience includes space planning, interior design, kitchen design, furniture design, compiling of construction drawings and project management. I designed reception counters for various buildings in the Medupi and Kusile Power Stations as well as for the Comair Simulator Buildings in Rhodesfield, where I also designed the new staff cafeteria. I redesigned the British Airways staff lounge at OR Tambo International airport, taking it from an old, bland, rundown space to a colourful and relaxing space, using the Kulula and British Airways corporate colours.  I have a strong understanding of how interiors comes together and strives to deliver beautifully designed spaces and furniture, where each element is essential to creating a cohesive design.
